At the age of six, Sergei Novikov began his musical studies on the three-stringed balalaika. His proficiency and determined attitude led his parents to enroll him in the Moscow school of Art, where he was introduced to the accordion.

At the age of seven, he switched to piano and made rapid progress during the remainder of his training at the school. In his teens, Novikov traveled throughout Russia with pop band selling out big stadiums.

 

Since his immigration to the United States in 1990 Novikov has become a major force in contemporary composing and has a large following in New England , Pennsylvania and Florida.

His sounds reflect influences and nuances of Classical, Jazz, Spanish,Latin,Russian,Blues,Tango , Electronica and other styles.

The Boston Globe described his work by stating, “ Sergei Novikov brings an intelligence ,craft and elegance to his arrangements that popular New Agers lack.

 

His music is both accessible to the unschooled ear and complex enough to hold the interest of the classical music appreciator”.

 

He opened a program for First lady Barbara Bush and has performed for dignitaries including President George H.W. Bush,Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and  President Joe Biden, as well as celebrities Billy Joel, Paul Newman and Reba McEntire.

 

In October of 1996 Novikov Performed  a mini piano recital in a World Trade Center in New York City.

 

In July 2002 Novikov won American Parents’ Choice Award for the album “ Jump,Jump,Jump”

 

Novikov received official recognition from the Queen Mother of England for his music.

 

For the past 30 years Novikov has sold over 1000000 CDs and performed live more than 1000 times.
